Toolroom PolisherPutnam Plastics Corporation (PPC) is the industry leading manufacture of life-saving medical devices components for over 40 years. We are looking for people who want to invest in their future, the future of PPC and our PPC community.The Toolroom Polisher is responsible for finishing and polishing extrusion tooling and mold components to precise specifications. This role ensures optimal surface quality and performance of tooling by using specialized polishing equipment, abrasives, and inspection tools.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Polish extrusion tool flow surfaces to required finishes and tolerancesDeburr parts and remove surface imperfections from tooling componentsPolish and finish mold components to meet quality and performance standardsUse precision hand tools including ultrasonic, rotary, and profiler handpiecesSelect and apply appropriate diamond compounds for various polishing stagesWork with a range of abrasives, including polishing stones, ceramic stones, felt bobs, rubber abrasives, and diamond filesMeasure and verify dimensions using precision instruments such as indicators, micrometers, and calipersInspect finished surfaces using magnification tools such as eye loupes to ensure quality standards are metMaintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipmentFollow all safety procedures and company guidelinesRegular and predictable "physical presence" on-site attendance is an essential job function and a prerequisite to perform other functions of the job.Working in Toolroom or manufacturing environment, exposure to metal dust, polishing compounds and shop equipment.Required Qualification:Experience polishing tooling, molds, or precision metal componentsProficiency with ultrasonic, rotary, and profiler handpiecesStrong knowledge of diamond compounds and their applicationsFamiliarity with various abrasive materials and polishing techniquesAbility to use precision measuring equipment, including indicators, micrometers, and calipersAbility to read and interpret technical drawings or specifications (preferred)High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipGood manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationRegular and predictable "physical presence" on-site attendance is an essential job function and a prerequisite to perform other functions of the job.Physical Requirements:Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to hear and talk. Must have dexterity to work with small pieces.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.Required to stand for majority of an 8 hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout work shift.Position requires data entry and regular use of computer/keyboard/mouse.Works mainly on a manufacturing floor. Periodically overtime could be required including weekends.
